The Lost Vintage ~ Ann Mah

August 14, 2019

• Paperback: 400 pages
• Publisher: William Morrow Paperbacks; Reprint edition (August 6, 2019)

Oh, I just love a good historical fiction adventure! The Lost Vintage definitely fits that bill.

When Kate fails her Master of Wine exam twice, she enters into the Sudden Death round. She has exactly one more shot and then she’s out of chances. Desperate, she returns to her family’s vineyard in Burgundy, hoping that literally digging into the material will improve her chances.

She is greeted by her aunt and uncle, currently running the vineyard, but she is intent upon NOT finding her first love (and heartbreak), Jean-Luc.

But you know what they say about best laid plans. Soon, she is elbow deep in the rich soil of her family’s land and history, helping her cousin and finding herself in the process.

In the middle of all of her adventures, Kate stumbles upon a secret room which promises to hold answers to her family’s legacy during the span of the Second World War, as well as what became of some very important bottles of vino.

Heartwarming and thrilling, The Lost Vintage was exactly what I needed. I am a huge history nerd and World War Two is one of my favorite spots. But I know next to nothing about the specificity of the French side of the war, so this was a brilliant addition to my usual reading.

Thank you so much to TLC Book Tours and William Morrow for this gorgeous story. If you haven’t Ickes it up, it will make an excellent end of summer escape.
