Teaser Tuesday: My New American Life – Francine Prose

June 4, 2012

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Great teaser. It’s funny how we get into set patterns – who sits where in the car, at the dinner table – and really for no reason most of the time except for the comfort of knowing how things will be. Thanks for sharing. My teaser is here.

I always try to change up where I sit. It always freaks people out and makes them uncomfortable. Its really very silly. Here is my tt

We do tend to find “assigned seats” in our groups, don’t we? The members of my writing group always sit in the same places when we meet! I guess it’s just a convenience — so we don’t have to figure it out every time.
Thanks for posting this entertaining teaser. Sounds like a terrific book.
