BTT: Free Will, eh?
Do you have a favorite quote from a book?
Oh, I sure as sugar do, y’all! On the outside of my left ankle, I have the hebrew word “Timshel” in dark lettering. It’s a tribute to John Steinbeck’s East of Eden and its existentialist emphasis on the ability to choose good or bad. There’s a website with a passage that sort of explains it, though, to get the entire concept, I suggest you read the whole amazing book.
My other favorite quote is the headline quote for my blog and it’s from A Room of One’s Own. You know, the fabulous one that goes, “Lock up your libraries if you like; but there is no gate, no lock, no bolt that you can set upon the freedom of my mind”. Oh, that brilliant Virginia Woolf!
