A thief. A prince. And a lot of really bad magic.

What could possibly go wrong?

Oh, you know, just about everything.

But that’s the fun part, isn’t it?

Finn, a thief and as self sufficient a young woman as Arya Stark, finds herself running from her horridly abusive adoptive father figure, straight into the life of the prodigal prince Alfie, who would prefer to just about anything other than return to his legacy as ruler of the kingdom.

The unlikely pair reluctantly join forces as dark magic begins to rise around the city, knowing that if it can be stopped, they are the only two for the job.

Maya Motayne’s debut novel, Nocturna, is rivaling Game of Thrones for the best edge-of-your seat, magic-filled, blood-lusty adventure story on my shelves (and in my heart), at the moment.

Nocturna spins elements of Lantinx folklore, dark magic, family, loyalty, and friendship into a ball of wonder so fast paced that I literally couldn’t put the book down.

I kind of came upon this one out of the blue when it was selected for a monthly buddy read and oh, goodness, I’m so glad it ended up in my hands. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for something fun for the summer
