The Twelve Dancing Princesses was one of my favorite stories, growing up. The original is dark and mysterious in its own way, but this retelling is far moreso.

From a ghoulish and gloomy funeral opening to the swirling final pages, House of Salt and Sorrows had me from beginning to end.

The story centers around twelve sisters who appear to be dropping like flies. No one knows why but a curse starts to bubble up in rumored whispers.

Soon, they are engaged in a mad dash to collect answers before it’s too late so save any of them.

The magic is found in the world built around the twelve sisters’ lives, weaving in and out of ballrooms and nightmares.

There is a sweeping romance, yes, it the best relationships are between the sisters, themselves, in comfort and grief, joy and loss.

I’m really excited for this book to hit shelves, later this year. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for a chance to read this early!

Sounds good. Great title and cover and I like it that the sisters’ relationships are forefront over the romance. 🙂
