Well, ok, I guess I need to put the past behind me.

The last installment of The Infernal devices basically left me in a sad sack on the floor.

I know that we will have a series set in between Infernal Devices and Mortal Instruments but for some reason, I was utterly heartbroken by leaving an entire generation of Shadowhunters behind to finish up the present day books.

I know it’s designed, this way, but I always think of Will as Jace and Jem as Alec. I know we’re supposed to see the similarities between the layers but in my head, they all sort of overlap.

The entire book really wrapped up that arc, giving respect and reverence to the past while setting the stage for the stories yet to come. I can’t wait to dive into the City of Heavenly Fire and then onward to Magnus and Los Angeles!

I really do cherish this book and this series so much. I can’t wait for the next part(s) of the set!
