Sarah, man, you’re killin’ me!

At this point, I think my poor heart is pretty much useless.

Yup, that’s it. Just leave it for dead on the side of the road.

So, embarrassingly, or perhaps, intentionally by design of the writer, I am losing track of where one book ends and the next begins.

Because I waited until almost all of the books were out, the series has felt like one long saga, which it is.

This isn’t a complaint. It’s fantastic. And I love it.

I will say, though, that Queen of Shadows felt slightly disjointed as there were so many random pieces and people all over the place, each telling their story. None of them really seemed to fit together until…

…Empire of Storms.

It’s within this book I finally got back to my Maas love of the holy roiling court. Aelin and Company just gave me that good old-fashioned ACOMAF feel, but, it was as if The Night Court was just forming. And we are currently living through their back story. I felt way more included, this time around.

So, basically, this volume of I Love SJM is complete with friendship, violence, love, and a whole lot of magic. I am about to start Tower of Dawn and I am a little wary because I feel like I’ve just kind of gone off Chaol but, maybe ToD will change my mind.
