TSS: MY Fab Five
My five favorite moments of the week:
WARNING! Olympic Spoilers re: Sunday’s Gymnastics events!
1. We Won Gold!
I love these girls. I mean, I don’t think I really need to say anything else…
2. GABBY Won Gold!
This kid is solid gold and I love it! All heart, no fear. Even if you’re not a former gymnast (can you tell that I am? OMG. I’m a giant nerd!) you should be watching this girl, sorry, young woman, rocking out at the very top of her sport.
3. McKayla won…silver.
It has taken me all day to make peace with her body’s terribly unfortunate choice of moments to make two back to back mistakes but, hey, she did the job we wanted her to do (coming up perfect for Team gold) and you know, silver at the olympics when you’re 16 ain’t too shabby. I know everyone has a bad day (and everyone else seemed to be having a worse one, aside from Romania) but my heart just breaks for the poor kid. Hopefully time will be good to her and she’ll get one more shot when she’s 20, in Rio.
4. Hide and Seek by Sara Shepherd
This series is one of my guilty little pleasures. I definitely thought that this fourth and latest installment would be the conclusion but no, no! There is, bittersweetly, yet another to come.
5. This afternoon (@My Family/Life is hilarious):
(curtain opens on daddy moving the dog crates to a more convenient location…)
Kai: What are you doing, dad?
Kellen: Oh, don’t you worry about me…
Kai: Um, I’m NOT worried about you; I’m worried about the dog crates…
I found that bit of conversation between your husband and son to be hilarious, and the picture of the pooch was excellent as well. Glad to hear that you are enjoying the Olympics!
