BTT2: No Resolve

Any New Year’s reading resolutions?

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

I, generally, don’t make resolutions because I find them hard to keep. I do, however, make gradual changes over time. In October, I found myself seriously missing my blog and the online reading community. I hadn’t been active in my writing in several months and needed to pick back up. Slowly, I made the long progression toward creeping back in and managed to do so slowly enough to where I didn’t burn myself out. I think, if I make any goals, they need to be similar. That is, they need to be long and loping enough to seem like natural cycles rather than abrupt changes.

I don’t do resolutions either … I called my list “ideas.” It’s so easy to get off track and to keep hard core resolutions.

Thank you for your kind comment on my blog. I too have an eclectic taste in books (and all forms of art for that matter), and it makes it much more challenging to actually feel like you’re accomplishing anything with your to-be-read pile! But it’s probably better to be open to many genres than stuck with only a handful.
