A Little Library Lovin’
As many have heard or read, I have recently come into the company of a beautiful new e.reader. I love it so much that it sleeps, charging next to me every night. It’s wonderful, yes, even though I haven’t had the time to finish a book, yet. (I’ve been a tad busy)
Well, another well known fact about my Nook is that with great joy, it gives me pause for I fear that in its wake, the invention of the e.reader may signal the death toll for the independent bookstore as well as the library. Of course, this may not be true for the library, especially in a time of such economic downturn. At least, I hope that that’s a true assumption.
Selfishly, I have gone ahead and aligned my allegiance with one particular library. The brand new Toco Hills library on the border of Atlanta and Decatur. It has great programming and wonderful staff. I’ll be the first to admit that while it is large in stock and options, the true appeal is an aesthetic one. The building itself is incredibly green architecturally which I won’t go into as most book bloggers aren’t necessarily structure nerds, too.
For those who like pictures, though, I’ll go right on and let the thing itself make its own case. I encountered a small library dwelling gnome to help me explore the kids’ section, too…
That library looks very inviting. I bet I could spend a lot of time there. Love the globe and your cute little boy!
