Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along!
Just do the following:
Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
After some deliberation regarding how I should celebrate Bloomsday, I thought that, perhaps, the best way to incorporate Ulysses into the blog for today would be to add it to Teaser Tuesday! I have also included my regularly scheduled program reading.
“Hanging over the bloody paper with Alf looking for spicy bits instead of attending to the general public. Picture of a butting match, trying to crack their bloody skulls, one chap going for another with his head down like a bull at a gate.” Ulysses by James Joyce p. 328
“Tacho plunged into the darkest clump of shadow and prayed he didn’t step on a rattlesnake or fall into a pit full of tarantulas. Atomiko had completely vanished.” Into the Beautiful North by Luis Alberto Urrea p. 141

Wow – Tuesday is looking quite ominous.
My Tuesday Teasers that I posted on my blog was from Crime and Punishment:
““Never before had he seen or heard such unnatural noises, such howling, screaming, snarling, tears, blows, and curses. He could never even have imagined such beastliness, such frenzy.”
Anyone reading Ulysses desrves a standing ovation!
